Are you feeling worn down by big emotions — your own or someone else’s?
Do you find yourself reacting in ways you don’t feel good about, then wondering why it’s so hard to stay calm or connected?
Maybe you’re trying to show up for your child, your partner, or your family — but inside, you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in old patterns. You want to respond with patience and care, but it doesn’t always come easily.
Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin to understand what’s going on beneath the surface — not to judge or fix yourself, but to grow a gentler relationship with your emotions, your history, and the people you care about.
I can help you:
Make sense of your emotional patterns and where they come from
Respond to challenges with more calm and confidence
Feel more connected in your relationships
Move away from guilt and into self-compassion
Build emotional awareness and resilience, at your own pace
This is a space to be fully human — not perfect. Together, we’ll work towards more steadiness, understanding, and emotional ease in your everyday life.

Whether you're ready to begin or just curious about what therapy might feel like, we can start with a conversation. Email me - annacomptontherapy@gmail.com
I offer a calm, supportive space where you can take a step back and reflect on what’s feeling difficult — whether that’s managing anxiety, navigating emotional overwhelm, or coping with challenges in your relationships.
Many of the people I work with are trying to stay connected and present in their relationships — with children, partners, or family — but find themselves caught in patterns of reactivity, self-criticism, or emotional fatigue. They want to respond with more understanding and patience, but don’t always know how.
In our work together, I help you make sense of your emotional responses, explore where they may be coming from, and find new ways to relate — both to others and to yourself.
What I offer is a steady, non-judgemental approach that blends deep listening with practical support. We’ll look at what’s really going on in the background of your daily life, and how to build more emotional awareness, clarity, and connection — at a pace that works for you.
Whether you’re parenting, partnering, or simply trying to show up more fully in your relationships, I’m here to support you in doing that with more calm, care, and confidence.
How I can help you
I’m a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, working in line with their ethical framework to provide safe, thoughtful support.
My approach is grounded in the belief that how we feel, relate, and respond is shaped by our early experiences — and that by understanding those patterns, we can begin to make meaningful changes.
I have a particular interest in how emotions show up in relationships, and how we can learn to respond with more calm, connection, and compassion — both to ourselves and those around us.
Whether you’re feeling anxious, emotionally stuck, or simply stretched thin, I offer a space to reflect, make sense of what’s going on, and move toward greater steadiness and self-understanding..
